Consent & Authorization

Last updated: June 19, 2026

Template notice. This document is a starting point written for OfficialPath’s service model. Correctional communications are heavily regulated and vary by facility and state — have it reviewed and adapted by qualified legal counsel before you rely on it.

OfficialPath connects approved contacts with an incarcerated loved one over a facility-approved communication channel. Because messages travel to and from a correctional setting, consent and authorization are central to how the service works. This page explains what you are agreeing to and what is required before any message is delivered.

1. Contact verification

Every person who texts an assigned OfficialPath number must verify their own mobile number with a one-time code before any message is delivered. Only verified contacts can send or receive. There is no anonymous or arbitrary routing.

2. Consent to monitoring

3. Authorization to set up a route

Reserving an assigned number authorizes OfficialPath to provision that number, configure routing, and create a verified-contact record for the primary contact. It does not authorize delivery billing, which begins only after activation works.

4. Withdrawing consent

Any verified contact may remove themselves at any time, and the account owner may pause or cancel a route from their account or by contacting support@officialpath.com. Withdrawing consent stops future delivery for that contact.

5. Not affiliated with any agency

OfficialPath is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, CorrLinks, ViaPath, Securus, JPay, or any other agency or provider unless a written agreement states otherwise.
